Nolan is sleeping so I haven't done the final fitting.

Fun with Friends

I can't believe that weather right now.
It's so beautiful and feels great.  We've had a little friend from church with us this week and the boys have had a blast.  It's been wonderful watching them play together and learn new things.
Everyday has been a sharing day for the two of them.
We are working on sharing cheerios, toys, books, and all the other important things in their lives.

Here is a cute little blurb of our morning.

Random Ramblings

One of my favorite times of the year is here. I am happily and not ashamed to announce that I am an OZARK EMPIRE FAIR junky. I love almost everything about the fair.  It's almost as if I don't even realize it because I am with my fair junky friends.  Lets just say we've been going all out for a feeww years now and we love it.

I had my usual corn dog and root beer in a jug.  Along with an endless supply of rides.  Some feel that rides that can be set up in a day are not safe. As for me, I just believe that any ride that can come to Springfield and I don't have to go to it is perfect.  The faster they get put up the quicker I can ride and the cheaper the ticket!> I love six flags but a little pricey.  I am a fan of our Silver Dollar City in Branson.  It's all just a chance for me to be a kid again. I can't wait until next year to do it all over again. As for the rest of my week it's been pretty relaxing.  It's been the hottest week of the year so, going outside hasn't been happening as frequently as preferred.
I thought today would be a great day to post on the ramblings in my mind shown through photos.  Enjoy!

Summer Evenings

Grilled chicken, corn, and spinach salad.
That sums up a lot of our summer dishes. I love our outdoor family time and so do our chiggers. Bug bites are the downfall.

Took a few photos to capture the evening.

Hooray for the simple things. bw

Longing For a Blank Canvas

Oh how I do long for some blank canvas walls and interiors that are so bare and anxious for some attention.  Prayer has been my only refuge.  Every time I think about the home we are interested in, I just have to give it up to God and remember that whatever his plans are for our family is what is best for us. Doesn't mean I don't hope because I know there's a plan for us and I can't wait to see what those new plans will be.
I have been thinking about tree houses, I just saw a commercial with a tree house in it and I thought of Derek's parents tree house.  It has so much love poured into it.  They have a home out in the country and the tree house is built with beautiful stairs that lead up to the french doors, re-purposed wooden walls, old glass windows, and vintage french doors.  I can't wait to take some pictures to show you all, but until then here are some fun tree houses that would be lovely for a sweet country home.

There are some fancy tree houses, but I liked these because they seem cute and practical for the average home. Besides the second photo; that one would be hard to make.  Here are some crazy fancies.

Hope this brings out some fond kid memories of your tree houses

Must be Nice....

What a beautiful home featured in NYT recently. This is a hilltop cape cottage in Breton, Nova Scotia. Enjoy the dreamy home pics. I am thankful for our home...but it must be nice to say that this is your home.

Shopping withdrawals

I haven't been clothes shopping in awhile.  I know that may sound somewhat false to Derek, but it seems that every time I have money to spend...I gravitate toward things for the house or Nolan.  That is what I really enjoy doing, but every time I look in my closet I tend to have second thoughts about my choices.  Most of my clothes that are summery are getting a little outdated. I am not saying that I don't have clothes that I like..I just like to have a few new shirts or dresses to wear during the summer months.  However, I chose to stay at home and must find other means to finding what I want with different prices.  I love looking online at places like JCrew, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, and Free People.  Of Course they are way too expensive for the average family, so I try to find those clothes at overstock stores or similar styles at Marshalls,TJMaxx, and Forever 21.

I'm hoping this post will make me feel like I already went shopping and maybe I will save the money for later.  Derek is graduating from a management school for credit unions and I get to go to his graduation.  The graduation just so happens to be very close to IKEA.  Whoopsies.
Maybe I can some how do half of both shopping spree's.
Which will probably get me now where, but it's fun to think about.

ANYWAY, GOING TO BE LOOKING FOR THE FOLLOWING STYLES

Vintage dress
I love a few comfy tanks like this one

cute but wish they had a peek-a-boo toe area

Seems like a comfy must-have

I like the idea of having a trendy backpack as a diaper bag

Well, that was fun shopping for me. I think it's working and I feel less anxious.
Hope it's given you some ideas for your own summer wardrobe.
