Umbrella Garland (paper craft)

I went to the library earlier this week and was able to get some great
books to get ideas for nap time crafts.   Today I made a garland that is quick and easy.  It reminds me of an umbrella so I named it the umbrella garland but it's really just
called a semi-circle garland.

Materials:
crafting paper
glue
scissors
beads
clear string (I used fishing line)

1)Pick out some paper!
keeping it simple

2) Cut 5 semi-circles per umbrella

3) Glue backs together and work your way around until all 5 pieces are connected.

4) Cut 7 inches of string per umbrella.  This is for adding the beads on the top and bottom of the umbrella.
you can just use an old necklace or bracelet
5) String together all the umbrella's to create a garland...and your done.  Yeah, have fun!

This makes dishes seem more fun. j/k

Vintage Finds and Modern-Vintage Interiors

I had today off work from watching babies and I was able to head out on the town to our local thrift stores and find a few that I couldn't pass up.

vintage tin (honey, put your change in here tin)

yellow plaid curtains with lace for our kitchen
My husband also did the sweetest thing.  I came from the bookstore with my sis-in-law the other night  and told him about a decor book we found that I LOVED.....and surprisingly it came in the mail for me today.  I didn't think he was going to get it for me.  It was only $19 including shipping and at the store it was $35.  Why do we ever buy for the convenience from the store when it is so much cheaper online.   Anyway here is the book....it's a must have in my mind!

Handmade Card Day

Today I had some down time during the little ones naps.  They slept so soundly and it gave me a chance to make some cards for whatever and whenever.  I love making cards; it's a good way yo get rid of some scrap paper that you just held on to because you KNEW it could be cute on something.

Have a card making day this week.  I think we may have a few rainy days.  Might as well make some crafty cards. God Bless.

Sorry next time I will take pictures as I go.

Enjoy your day.  Today is beautiful here and I have some yard work to do.  Hope everyone's week is going well and may your day be blessed.

Easter Greetings

WHAT IS THE REASON FOR EASTER?
by Helen Dowd
It is Easter, a time of rejoicing.
Do our thoughts turn to bonnets and spring?
Do our minds drift to sweet chocolate bunnies?
Or some cuddly, soft fuzzy thing?

Do we dream of a basket of goodies?
Or an egg-hunt in the neighbor's back yard?
Do we think about fun family gatherings?
Or receiving a bright Easter card?

Or is Easter for sporting new clothing?
Or perhaps a new style for our hair?
Is it daffodils, tulips and lilies?
Or the smells of new life in the air?

But stop! What's the reason for Easter?
Just what makes it a festive affair?
Was it not that Christ rose on that morning,
Giving meaning to life everywhere?

Christ is God. He descended from heaven
To live humbly on earth as a man.
He suffered, and died as a criminal,
To fulfill God's redemtional plan.

Can we know of the depth of Christ's suffering?
Can we fathom His anguish and pain?
'Twas for us He was tortured, forsaken,
Went to Hell, then ascended again.

What if Jesus had failed in His mission
To die for the sins of all men?
There would not be a reason for Easter.
There'd be nothing to celebrate then.

While we celebrate this Easter season,
Keep in mind this wee bit of advice:
Let's take time on this happy occasion
To thank God for His Great Sacrifice.

*  *  *

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.  Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'he has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him. ' Now I have told you."
So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.  Suddenly Jesus met them.  "Greetings," he said.  They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.
Matthew 28: 5-9

Here's a DIY project for Easter
